The program is coming together for the ASB 2024 Annual Meeting in Madison (August 5-8). We have confirmed two keynote speakers, Dr. Leena Sharma from Northwestern University and Dr. Robert Guldberg from the University of Oregon. We will kick off the meeting with a wide range of workshops and tutorials that will be announced soon. The deadline for submission of symposia recently passed, and we had a total of 11 submissions. The program committee is currently finalizing the list of accepted symposia, and we expect to have an exciting lineup spanning multiple domains of biomechanics.
The main scientific program will include five parallel tracks of Oral Presentations, Award Sessions, and Symposia, as well as Keynote Lectures, and Posters. We will also have an on-site ASB Participant Research Study devoted to collecting a large, normative dataset of mobility assessments using markerless motion capture. In addition to the scientific programming, the meeting will include a range of events for networking, professional development, and social connection, including an Opening Reception, Exhibitors and Vendors throughout the week, Women in Science, Diversity and Inclusion events (all are invited!), on-site Lunches, and a Banquet in the lovely Evjue Rooftop Garden, overlooking both Lake Monona and the State Capitol.
If you would like to share your work during the annual meeting, don’t forget to submit your abstracts by March 13th. Please also consider volunteering to be an abstract reviewer. This can be indicated on the website when you renew your ASB membership.
Finally, keep an eye on the ASB website, social media (ASB Twitter account, LinkedIn, Bluesky), and your email for further updates and details as the meeting approaches. I look forward to seeing you all in Madison!
