As my time on the Executive Board comes to a close, it’s really fun to think of all the great work I got to be a part of and all of the dedicated biomechanists I’ve gotten to work with. It’s hard for me to remember a time when I wasn’t part of ASB, which makes sense since it’s now been half of my life! Thanks to all of you, it really has been such an honor to serve this community in so many ways: abstract reviewer, session chair, education committee member, awards committee member, Meeting Chair, diversity committee member, Diversity Chair, and Presidential Line. Definitely time now for me to get out of the way for new people and new ideas.

One aspect of ASB that I really want to highlight as I conclude my time is its continuous evolution. ASB keeps on evolving to meet the needs of its membership, and each of you keep on evolving as a scientist and leader. When you think back on your time with ASB or look forward to how ASB might support you, please consider sharing your story to inspire others – we’ll be looking to highlight more of these as we approach ASB’s 50th anniversary celebration in 2027.

There are two big jobs for the Past President: chairing the Nominating Committee and the Development Committee. As you all know, we had a terrific slate for the elections, and congratulations go to Jason, Jeremy, Jessica, Mike, and Sam. The Society is in good hands for the future. The Development Committee continues to chug along – look for new opportunities to support ASB by sharing your story and by opening your wallet 😃

Lastly, there’s just too many people to thank, but I especially need to thank all of the members of the Executive Board, our expert staff from Podium including Rita, Michelle, and Cendrine, the Nominating and Development Committee members, and all of the folks who bravely put their names out there for elected positions but were not selected. ASB works because of the hard work you all put in, day in and day out. I appreciate you!
