This summer brings an end to my time as Awards Chair, and I’m excited to be in person this year to introduce our many winners and finalists (see full list below for NACOB presentations). During the closing ceremonies, I’ll announce the Journal of Biomechanics and Clinical Biomechanics awards and the ASB President’s Award given to President Hsiao-Wecksler’s favorite poster!
I am excited to pass this role onto Rumit Singh Kakar, and I am thankful to him and the Standing Awards Committee (Clair Milner, Dennis Anderson, Hugo Giambini, David Lipps) who helped greatly with awards management. Together we updated the award submission process, created review rubrics for all awards, and are working towards providing improved descriptions and guidance for the awards.
I’m sad to leave the ASB Executive Board, but so thankful for the new friendships I’ve made.
Thank you all for being so kind during my tenure as Awards Chair. I enjoyed every moment of being the steward of the ASB Awards. ASB is a wonderful community with so many people deserving of recognition.
