It’s an exciting time for ASB. With the support of our membership, we’ve officially adopted our new bylaws, an important step in ensuring that the Society’s structure continues to reflect how we work, collaborate, and grow. Thank you to everyone who contributed feedback throughout the process. Governance updates may not generate much fanfare, but they play a critical role in shaping how effectively we serve our members and advance our mission.
One notable change is the separation of the combined Secretary/Membership role into two distinct positions. As our community continues to grow and evolve across disciplines, career stages, and increasing engagement with our outreach initiatives, it became clear that membership activities warrant dedicated leadership. Creating a standalone Membership Chair position will allow both roles to focus more fully on their respective responsibilities and better support the needs of the Society. Over the coming months, we’ll be selecting and onboarding our next Membership Chair. I’m excited to welcome someone into this role and help set them up for success.
I’m also looking forward to seeing many of you at the World Congress of Biomechanics. The opportunity to connect in person, exchange ideas, and strengthen our community is always a highlight, and this year’s meeting promises to be especially memorable. Safe travels to everyone making the journey.
Thank you for all you do to make ASB such a vibrant and welcoming community.
