We are so excited about the program that is coming together for ASB 2025 in Pittsburgh at the David L. Lawrence Convention Center (August 13-16). We have two fantastic keynote speakers confirmed for the meeting: Dr. Rory Cooper from the University of Pittsburgh and Dr. Suzanne Maher from the Hospital for Special Surgery. The 2025 meeting will begin with a wide range of workshops and tutorials that will be announced soon. The deadline for submission of symposia was on January 16 and we had a total of 13 submissions. The dedicated members of the Program Committee (Kim Bigelow, Peter C. Fino, Jason Franz, Alexa Johnson, Maria Ramos Gonzalez, and Meghan Vidt) are currently finalizing the list of accepted symposia, and we expect to have an exceptional lineup spanning multiple domains of biomechanics.
The core scientific program will include five parallel tracks of Oral Presentations, Award Sessions, and Symposia, as well as Keynote Lectures and Posters. We will also have an on-site ASB Participant Research Study that will examine how non-expert players respond to upper extremity movement tasks in the Beat Saver VR environment. In addition to the scientific programming, the meeting will include some of your favorite ASB events for networking, professional development, and social connection, including an Opening Reception, Exhibitors and Vendors throughout the week, Women in Science, Diversity and Inclusion events (all are invited!), on-site Lunches, and a Banquet will be on the rooftop terrace of the David L. Lawrence Convention Center with beautiful views of the Pittsburgh skyline, the North Shore, and the Allegheny River.
We would love to have everyone join us and share your work during the annual meeting. Please remember to submit your abstracts by February 25th and remember no deadline extension this year (really, I promise we will not be extending the deadline this year so please get your abstracts started early). Please also consider volunteering to be an abstract reviewer. This can be indicated on the website when you renew your ASB membership.
Finally, keep an eye on the ASB website, to social media, and your email for further updates and details as the meeting approaches. I look forward to seeing you all in Pittsburgh for a fun and educational ASB 2025!
