Hello everyone, my name is Evan Dooley and I was recently appointed as your new Communications Chair! I want to start by thanking Srikant Vallabhajosula for his service as the ASB Communications Chair over the past couple years. The increased presence on Twitter/X and comprehensive photographic coverage of the annual meetings have been both enjoyable and informative. This push led to increased participation and engaging discussions across a diverse array of topics, showcasing the vibrant talent and dedication of our members. Thanks again to Srikant for all of your hard work!

Building on this momentum, we aim to increase online engagement to provide year-round benefits that extend beyond the Annual Meeting. By creating more accessible and dynamic digital opportunities, we’re excited to better serve our diverse membership and amplify the impact of biomechanics. To this end I am thrilled to announce that the American Society of Biomechanics is now more connected than ever! You can now find ASB on LinkedIn, Instagram, X (formerly Twitter), and Threads. These platforms provide exciting ways to share updates, celebrate member achievements, and foster discussions about biomechanics. We will still be sending out our monthly e-blasts and this lovely bi-annual newsletter for larger communications with more detail than we can provide in the quick hit fashion of social media. Rest assured if you prefer to stick with e-mail, you will still be receiving all of your news from ASB. If you have suggestions of where else you would like to see updates from ASB, please pass those notes along to me, Evan, your Communications Chair at asbcommunications@asbweb.org. Better yet, select the check box next to “Communications Committee” when you renew your membership this year and come help make your dreams a reality!

Looking ahead, we’re committed to advancing diversity, equity, and inclusion within our society and the broader field of biomechanics. Our upcoming communications endeavors aim to provide support and visibility for all of the initiatives across ASB with a focus on mentorship opportunities, support for underrepresented groups, and cross-disciplinary collaborations that push the boundaries of what’s possible. Stay tuned for details about our next virtual events and funding opportunities, and let’s continue working together to shape a more inclusive and innovative future for biomechanics.
