I am excited to close another busy year for ASB! We saw a record number of awards given this year, highlighting the society’s support of our membership. Additionally, we saw an increase in member donations. With the addition of the Development Committee we hope to continue to foster a culture of support and giving back to our society.

Grants:

We are grateful for the continued support of ASB from external partners of our society. This year a $25,000 grant from Nike was used towards the $36,000 B-SURE program. The society distributed 5 B-SURE awards this year and we hope this program continues and grows in 2024! Additionally, we are grateful for the support of the Up & Comer Award from the AsianAsian◆American Institute American Institute for Research & Education and support of the Clinical Biomechanics and Journal of Biomechanics awards from Elsevier.

Looking forward:

As we move into 2024, we will start the year by supporting the 5 upcoming ASB Regional Meetings.  I look forward to continuing to support the Development Committee and other strategic financial planning which will continue to set up ASB for success to grow the biomechanics community now and beyond!
